paper sit back relax and let's learn some vocabulary together our first word is trademark repeat after me trademark as a common noun a trademark refers to an officially registered name symbol or logo used to represent a product or a firm trademark can also be used as a regular verb and this simply means to Mark something or register something as a trademark and I'm sure you've seen this symbol before TM this is the symbol of a trademark so if this symbol is beside a product name or a company name you can be sure that it is trademarked and protected by law are you ready for your first sentence example we have trademarks on five of our product names and services our next essential business English word is organize repeat after me organize and this verb means to arrange something systematically or make arrangements or preparations for an event or an activity let's take a look at our example sentence I organized the training for the new employees there is a slight difference in the spelling between British and American English for this word organize it's pronounced the same but organize in American English has a zed and in British English they have an S instead let's take a debit card fraud let's take a look at the definition credit and debit card fraud is a form of identity theft that involves an unauthorized taking of another's credit card information for the purpose of charging purchases to the account or removing funds from it this theft can occur physically when the actual credit and debit card is taken or the theft can occur when just the numbers are stolen liquid assets are things you own that can be quickly and easily turned into Cash without losing value this includes things like money in Saving accounts or stocks that can be sold on short notice they're called liquid because they can flow easily into cash I always keep a portion of my investments in liquid assets for emergencies next up we're going to look at two different types of interest
