Author:Bhaktivedanta Vidyapitha

Summary

In Session 2 of Bhakti Shastri on the Bhagavad Gita, the discussion covers Arjuna’s initial doubt and emotional turmoil as he surveys the battlefield and sees his relatives and teachers among the opposing army. Krishna begins his guidance by placing the chariot between the two armies, highlighting Arjuna’s moment of surrender to compassion, doubt, and moral confusion, and then begins to address Arjuna’s four main objections to fighting: attachment to kin, fear of sinful reactions, and concern for family traditions. The speaker explains Arjuna’s contrasting perspectives as a compassionate devotee and a conflicted kshatriya, and emphasizes Krishna’s affectionate, dharma-driven instruction to align Arjuna’s will with divine will. The session also includes broader reflections on the roles of various devotees (like Hanuman) and the purpose of the Gita’s teaching as a framework to overcome ignorance and realize dharma.

[Music] [Music] om om [Music] gur sh Krishna [Music] [Music] [Music] Krishna Krishna Krishna Krishna hurry hurry Hur Hur h h i welcome all the participants of this bhagat Gita course so yesterday we have covered the bhagavat Gita first chapter up to schloka number 19 so we'll continue I'll give a quick recap of what we have discussed yesterday so yesterday we have seen D's question to Sanaya and we also saw how duryodhan goes to his Guru dronacharya and gives a comparison between his own Army and pandas Army and how he says that bishma is the leader of my Army Bea is the leader of Panda's Army my Army is well protected by most experienced General isma so he just expresses his confidence but he also hides his fears internally was a little fearful also and we also have seen how duryodhan noticed that bishma and drona specifically had some extra affection for the pandas because they're righteous the directly and indirectly indicated to them that you should not be lenient you should not be partial you both should put your full energy in fighting on my behalf he said that and we also have seen in the third section how bishma marked the beginning of the war by blowing his cons and after that Krishna Arjuna and all the pandas and people on the side of of pandas they all blew their conscience so as they blew their conscience because blowing cons is marking of the beginning of worship of the Supreme Lord so here the Supreme Lord Krishna is going to establish Dharma through the pandas flowing of conscience actually indicates that worship of Krishna is going to be so that Mar the sign of Victory ofas and many other points we have seen so we will start with the next we'll recite the last once again 19th can [Music] [Music] [Music] when the pandas their conscience the hearts of the kavas means means the sons ofra so their hearts got shatter and P BW the cons but when they blew the conscience P Hearts were not sh okay so that we have seen yesterday so prad writes in so I hope we are studying from bhag as it is Swami I keep mentioning some statements fromport also as it is so prop says one who take shelter of the Supreme Lord Krishna has nothing to fear even in the midst of great Calamity because Krishna is there on the side of the pandas definitely pandas will become Victorious what is the lasta ofra you know whereever kishna is there whereever the greatest Bowman arj is there there there will be opulence and vij victory so Victory is there on the side of pandas because Krishna is there on their side so because they have taken shelter of Krishna definitely Krishna will give them all protection so now that completes the first three sections of this chapter first 19 shlokas now we will enter the fourth section of this chapter where Arjuna observes both the arms so in this section we see Arjuna becomes very emotional and quite confused in performing his duty that's the key things that happen in this section okay I can't see the names I'm unmuting you [Music] so just saw this whole arrangement of the battle and and he has seen the arrangement of army made by the sons ofra and here Arjun is called K because he has a chariot that has a flag which is marked with the symbol of picked up his conscience were blown so it marked the beginning of the war then arj Pi picked up his bow and arrows and he was about to shoot the arrows right he was about to he fixed the arrow on his bow already and he was about to shoot but at this moment he said he started speaking to Krishna now uh conscience were blown the battle has begun and he also picked up his bow and arrows and about to shoot he fixed an arrow on his bow and then he was about to shoot it's not the time for a discussion at this moment Arjun says Krishna I want to speak something okay so let me speak to you so it's little surprising right so means Arjuna has confronted so he confronted in the battle but he was not convinced sometimes we confront but we are not we are not completely convinced about our confrontation so all that confusion of arj will be seen in the next few verses but in this particular shoka this word Kida is very significant so earlier we have seen Krishna was on the side of Arjuna so there is victory for Arjun and wherever Krishna is there krishna's Eternal cons lakmi or goddess of Fortune will also be there that's why Krishna is also described as madava at one point so Krishna is not different from Ram okay and God is fortunately so RAM and are there with him and Han is also there with Arjun so Arjun is accompanied by R and Arjun and Hanan so in this way we see that arjuna's Victory is decided the emblem of Hanuman and the flag of Arjuna is another sign of both RAM and Hanan were sitting on arjuna's Chariot see and this in this picture Krishna is there is not different from RAM and Hanan is there on top of his flag so there are some stories about this Kaja why did Hanan end up on the flag of Arjuna want me to tell some stories also anyway stories we can discuss only first chapter not so many stories in the future chapters let me share some stories so there is one story once Arjuna went to a place called ramesar in the South India the bank of he was there and there was a little monkey there so Arjuna asked the monkey why the ram buil a bridge with stones using the monkeys engaging the monkeys why can't he make a bridge with arrows so you should you should make a bridge with arrows the monkey said no if you make a bridge with arrows the bridge will break so many monkeys will keep walking on the bridge and the bridge will break Arrow bridge will break [Music] then Arjuna said no I will I can make a bridge which will not break even if monkeys walk on thege then they both had a contest the monkey and the voice is very low so the monkey and Arjuna had a contest the contest was that arj is supposed to make a bridge which is very strong enough but even when monkeys walk on it it should not break if the bridge breaks Arjuna will give up his life and if the bridge doesn't break then the monkey will become a servant of that was the P was the so arj had shot his arrows and a nice Bridge was made with at some time and this monkey went and started walking on the bridge and the bridge broke then AR was little surprised again he made a bridge again monkey started walking and the bridge was broken into pieces so then Arjuna was about to give up his life then suddenly one Brahman came there and that Brahman said actually you have made a without a jewy there should be some jewy panel right someone should be monitoring your contest we should again have a contest then again Arjun had made a bridge with arrows then again this monkey went and started jumping on the the bridge but the bridge not break then monkey came and understood oh this Brahman this person is non different from my worshipable master R and Arjun also understood this Brahman is not different from my worshipable master Krishna because he came to protect me because I'm about to give up my life so basically Krishna has come there so Krishna R both are not different so Hanan saw this this person as RAM and Arjuna saw this person as Krishna and Krishna blessed both of them and as promised Hanuman G agreed to sit on the flag of Arjuna giving him encouragement and power and strength to fight in the water so this is one story connected to the word K there another story so once in the bad side near Himalayas when Dadi was standing there and suddenly 1,00 F flower came it's very fragant it's so beautiful so wanted to give this flower to Y Maharaj is soag and G happened to be nearby so this requested can I get more flowers like this if I can get more flowers then I will be able to am I audible you're able to see me or hear me so thank you so uh then Bea said okay I'll get flowers for you so Bea took his G and he was just walking into the forest searching for this special flowers so as he was moving around there was an old monkey then Bea said and Bea is coming there with so much of confidence making some noise uprooting trees breaking trees out of his over excitement then this old monkey said why are you making so much noise then out of he said okay that's none of your business you just move aside you should not block my way just move aside then the monkey said no you can just jump across me jump over me I cannot move I said I'm very old I'm unable to move then Hima said no no it's not proper for me to jump across you you only please move then the monkey said no I cannot move my body I'm very old if possible you only pick up my uh tail and then move it aside and then you move so then Hima tried to pick up the tail but nothing has happened then he tried so hard to pick up the tail but eventually he could understand that this is none other than my older brother Hanuman because Hanuman is vutra and Bea is also vutra so Bea and Hanuman G both are sons of the wind God so they both are like brothers then Hanuman revealed his original form and blessed Hima that Hima definitely you all are going to get your kingdom back very soon and I will definitely become I will stand I will sit on your brother's flag arjun's flag and I will also roar I will Roar so loudly as you roar so when di Ro on the battlefield of kurra Hanan also joins him and he also roars combined Ro of both the brothers will shatter the hearts of all the so that was the promise given by Hanan to so these are some stories connected to now you see the Lord uh the Lord at different times he makes different devotees with prominent you see Hanuman is very powerful more powerful than Arjuna and also but why can't come and fight in the battlefield ofra comes nothing they are so insignificant Hanan can just trample all these people under his feet Hanan fought with such great warriors like raana also so in comparison to Hanan strength Arjun strength and strength the two from is very powerful and he was alive also why can't he fight but Krishna wants to give credit to his devotees different devotees at different times not that he wants to give credit to the same devote all the time you see in the E of shagat like blessed Bal Maharaj in the seventh of shag naras blessed prad so prad was the hero in the seventh so naras has appeared to protect prad m has to make prahalad so prominent but that prahalad is playing a small role in the case of Bal Maharaj in the story of Bal Maharaj came to bless Bal Maharaj so in different incarnations in different forms in different ugas the Lord will make different devotees prominent the Lord will give more credit to different devotees so it's up to him so now Hanan is just giving the role of roaring such a great warrior he's not allowed to fight there inra you just sit on the flag and okay you also start roing that's only Ro to similarly although we have so much of experience in our life at different moments in our lives we need to play different roles some small roles some big roles we can't be in the be the center of attraction in all situations of life right sometimes have to take a back seat sometimes you have to keep someone else in front Okay so that's that's natural even devotees also keep doing that and Hanuman was a monkey and in Ram's story you can see jti was a great devote jamban was a great devote but jatai was just a vulture jamban was just a bear Hanan was just a monkey and Vish was a demon but you see in all these cases the Lord doesn't discriminate the Lord sees only biti he doesn't see the background of a person so the Lord has so many devotees even in non-human species also so it's not that necessary that one has to be very wealthy educated or become a chria to become a devote of the Lord know these are all external things the Lord is very pleased with anybody who loves hims so there's a Nicea this is out of syllabus but still I just remember this let me just [Music] [Music] yes V for [Music] [Music] [Music] this is from so what is the greatness of this Hunter there is a hunter named DH so what is the greatness of this Hunter what is the age of D Maharaj fiveyear old child viya gajra what is the great education of gajendra an [Music] elephant so what is the beauty of what is the wealth of sud very poor brah doesn't even have sufficient cloth to cover his body what is the vam what is the cast of vam he's born as a sudra he's born as the son of made servant what great what great Valor or strength he has so although all these people are unqualified in various ways considering from a material perspective madav that madava that Supreme lord loves right when you have love when you have love for Krishna Krishna will show all affection for you so krishna's love Upon Us mercy upon us doesn't depend on any external considerations okay back to bhagas okayi you can recite this [Music] excellent thank you oh Lord please keep my Chariot between the two armies so in the lasta we have seen that Arjuna picked up his bow and he was about to shoot his arrows but he just withdrew and then said uh Krishna can you please take the Chariot between the two armies right suddenly it's a very sudden decision two the middle ofies pleas my Chari I'm going to see I want to observe the faces of those people who have uh come on this battlefield right y desire to do yudha with a desire to fight with the opponents they all have assembled I want to see them whom am I going to confront in this great battle of kurra I want to see them so doesn't Arjun know Arjun knows who are they Arjun knows duryan has come there dasas has come there shakuni has come there bishma was there drona was there he knows everybody and he has been in the discussions of all these uh you know all these years right he has been discussing how we have to conduct a war and he was there throughout these preparations for the war and he knows who all are going to assemble in the war but still arjis I want to see let me see who has assembled there then in the shoka we see the word AA is mentioned why Krishna is called auta in this schloka he never fails in his affection for his devotees and this he's addressed here his infallible so the very fact that Arjun Krishna has taken the role of a chariot driver of Arjuna itself shows that Krishna is very affectionate Krishna is extremely affectionate towards his devotees and on top of it Arjun says Krishna take my charity in the middle of two armies so then arj Krishna just follows the instruction see so he not only he played The Humble role of being a chariot driver okay but he's also following all the instructions see the role of a chariot driver is such a menial role in the battlefield the warrior who is fighting on the Chariot he doesn't have time to request the driver Chariot driver my dear driver can you please take the side take the take the Chariot to the left side right side goost St no he would kick the driver on the right side then the person has to take a right turn and the warrior has to kick the driver on the left side and he has to take a left turn and he will kick in the middle of the bag then he has to move as move ahead so Krishna is sitting on the Chariot and receiving the kicks of AR to that degree Krishna is affectionate towards his devores that's why Krishna is called auta auta means infallible so Krishna never fails in his affection towards his devotees when Krishna finds that a pure devotees ordering him he he becomes so excited right although he's infallible master in all circumstances still Krishna likes to be controlled Krishna likes to be ordered by his devotees in thean past times we see Ina especially we see that mother is binds krishna's belly with the R so Krishna has come under the control of mother yes all the universes are there in his belly Krishna just showed that showed all the universes within his belly to Mother Yoda just some time back and yes bound that belly means she brought Krishna under her control she brought all the universe is also under under her control so basically Krishna likes to be under the control of his duties so next Soka in thank you in the is saying my dear Lord I want to see who is so enthusiastic to fight against us with great enthusiasm they have they have assembled on this battlefield to do what so to assist to support the durb of dhra who is dhra Dury and durb means his evil mind so many people on the battlefield of kurra have assembled there to support the evil minded duryodhan let me see who all have come to support him okay that is arjuna's question request to Krishna then uh Krishna has to take the Chariot between the to Aries okay yes Krishna [Music] [Music] [Music] when arj said like this when Arjun requested Krishna like this what happened is The Descendant ofh Dynasty that is Arjun he also called here gakha means gaka means sleep gakha means one who conquers sleep Arjuna has conquered sleep okay good good means Jag right it's very sweet okay that's another meaning so Arjuna is called gakha also because he has the ability to relish the beautiful sweet qualities of Krishna arj is called gakha because he conquer sleep because he without sleep also he can survive okay but we can't and he also reles the sweet qualities of Krishna so when Gata Arjun requested Krishna like this that that Krishna say [Music] that that best Chariot is placed in the middle of both the armies by Krishna okay simple so Arjuna conquered both sleep and sleep also indicates ignorance Arjuna conquered ignorance also because of arjuna's Friendship with Krishna he conquered ignorance similarly if we also make friendship with Krishna we can conquer ignorance okay AR is being showing some ignorance here so Krishna will destroy that Ignorance by speaking bhagat Gita so similarly when we also hear bhagad Gita we can conquer our Ignorance by the friendship or by the blessings of Krishna so then either in walking or in sleep a devote of the Lord can never be free from thinking of krishna's name form qualities and Past Times Arjuna is always thinking of krishna's beautiful pastimes and his qualities that's why he's also called G fine so next next okay [Music] so arjuna's Chariot came in the middle of both the armies and on the opposite Army he has seen bishma and drona many other Chief Warriors so many such great celebrated popular Warriors have assembled therea now Krishna started speaking so these are this is the first word of Krishna that he speaks in bhagat Gita the bhagat Gita Krishna first opened his mouth here actually he opens his mouth while teaching the second chapter 11th onwards but he speaks a few words in the first chapter here and also few words to chastise Arjuna in the beginning of second chapter then he begins his teachings from the second chapter 11 okay so what did he say Arjuna son of PR who isi so son is called so Krishna spoke to oh my arj re here so many kurus have assembled here so please see so Krishna said that much so now Krishna is speaking only these few words half shoka he spoke in the first chapter okay there are 46 shlokas in 46 Shas Krishna spoke only half shoka actually not even half one and half lines okay anyways he spoke only half then why this whole book is called bhag Gita bhita means everything in the Gita should be spoken by bhagan but bhagan did not speak all theokas so in the first chapter you see 45 shlokas Krishna did not speak out of 700 shlokas in bhagat Gita Krishna speaks only 574 shlokas one6 Shas are not spoken by Krishna Arjuna speaks 84 shlokas Sanaya speaks 41 shlokas Andra spoke oneok okay still it is called bhagat Gita why so entire book is like as if Krishna is speaking so the reason is that for example you have uh you have arranged a program uh of a very popular speaker okay he's a very popular orator he have arranged a program so and you have called so many people thousand people as guest you have booked a nice Auditorium right his talk is there so we announce to everyone so he's going to speak he's going to speak that is his program okay but when he comes to the auditorium so he'll sit for a while and some MC will come okay and some person who is introducing this person the theator so he will start introducing this person and some people will come and speak some welcome words some people make some announcements uh and some people will thank will give a vote of thanks at the end of the whole session now although the speaker is that is speaker program still there are quite a few people some at least three four people are there they are also speaking okay either introducing him or thanking him or making some announcements or something like that but you say this is his program so why all these people who are speaking along with the orator they are speaking something in connection with the orator and they're speaking something which is about the orator speech okay th he can consider the whole program to be that orator program similarly although there are other speakers like sanay and Arjuna Andra in bhagat Gita all of them are speaking something which is leading to Krishna speech see unless Arjuna asks questions where is the possibility that Krishna gives answers Krishna is speaking because Arjun asked him to speak so what did Arjuna ask that also has to be there in bhagat Gita and Sanjay is narrating so for example Sanjay is speaking the first chapter predominantly and sanay also expresses the emotions describes the emotions of Arjuna uh in the uh in the 11th chapter in the 11th chapter Krishna displays the vishara universal form and arj now Krishna is not speaking AR is not speaking is giving D Krishna is giving D is seeing D who will speak now sanj has to interv and he has to speak he has to describe what's happening there right so now all this is bhag Gita all this is part of bhagat Gita so wherever another speaker is like needed to speak out so they are coming they're intervening and speaking okay and especially drra so unra asks a question why would San describe the whole scene firsta is also leading as to bhagat Gita so this entire bhagat Gita can be called bhagat Gita although bhagan did not personally speak all theas okay so now here Krishna is called rikha in this particular shloka and Krishna because he's the Super Soul of all living beings he could understand what's going on in the mind of Arjuna Arjuna said please keep the keep my Chariot in the middle of two armies so what's going on in the mind of Arjuna Krishna could easily guess oh maybe Arjun is not inclined to fight at this moment okay he could easily guess so next [Music] very [Music] [Music] good very good so at the time Arjun has seen whom he did he see means fathers means grandfathers so these are various categories of relatives there are at least 10 categories we will see what are the 10 categories let me show Gita sub that has better uh list you able to see the screen see p Arjuna has seen p means fathers like Gish on the level of Father pahan grandfathers like bishma and S he has seen acharan teachers like drar Kar and you seen Mulan maternal uncles like shakuni and shelat he has seen Brothers like duryodhan vikara Das and many others putan Sons he has seen lak Kumar lakman Kumar is the son of duryodhan panra means grandsons like sons of lakman Kumar also have assembled there sakim friends like father like Maharaj like sua word refers to any Weller but specifically it applies to the greatest Krishna right Krishna Krishna is the greatest so these are 10 categories of people that Arjuna has seen on the battlefield of kurukshetra right so he became so overwhelmed became so emotional he could not control his emotions so Arjuna was very very overwhelmed at this moment so now he has to kill all these people right so he's killing bad and moment let us consider Arjuna is about to fight with all these people and commit violence so his violence always bad now let's consider this example a soldier commits a violence a terrorist also commits violence what is the difference between these two a soldier becomes violent and kills the opponents to protect the country as a service to the government but a terrorist also commits violence just whimsically and just to trouble innocent people so both are killing both are committing violence but the purpose of committing violence is different in both cases so when the see being nonviolent is a great quality but aligning with the will of God is a greater quality so being obedient to the desire of Krishna is a greater quality so Arjuna is about to uh uh show some quality of nonviolence now he says I will not be so violent I will not be killing my own relatives my own friends so you may say oh arjun's nonviolence is very good yeah in one sense it is very good but the point is sometimes if it is required to be violent we have to be violent especially for chrias for rulers it is very much needed so if there's a need to be violent one has to be violent it's if there's a need to be strict uh one has to be strict for example parents have to be loving towards the children but sometimes if they have to become strict with the children just for their own benefit they may have to show some strictness right similarly chhatria is always loving and caring for the citizens but sometimes when the citizens do some mistakes they will have to punish so we need to understand that violence also has its role 27 Krishna sorry Arjun has seen all of them means the son ofi Arjuna so he has seen samika to see he has seen all these AR assembled there all of them are his relatives only righta means compassion he became so compassionate he was so overwhelmed with compassion V means tragedy right being being sad so he started speaking with a lot of sadness in the heart okay so this is the background we completed this section also so he became overwhelmed with compassion such symptoms uh of compassion are because of his soft heartedness as a pure devote so we need to see Arjuna from two angles of vision one they confused with chhatria second the compassionate VNA okay so arjuna's willingness to tolerate the offenses of duryodhan arjuna's willingness to uh like give up the kingdom give up his claim over the kingdom and then just know be a beggar on the streets right without having to fight with own relatives for the Kingdom so that shows his Detachment that shows his compassion that shows his no heartedness soft-heartedness gentle heartedness we should give credit to that definitely on the other hand another from another perspective AR is being overwhelmed with some material emotions he's ignoring his duty as chria to punish miscreants because on a personal level he can tolerate Injustice okay that's understandable but when duryan sits on the throne how will he rule will he rule properly will he rule citizens properly and if Arjuna and all the pandas have the ability to fight with duryan and protect the citizens in a proper manner they should definitely do it so on a personal level as a devote May tolerate all inconveniences but if a devote is in a position to protect so many citizens hundreds of people thousands of people a devote wouldn't hesitate to confront with enemies and Mis creates right so we need to see Arjuna from both perspectives another point is how could Arjuna be confused here how could Arjuna be so overwhelmed with material emotions here it is Krishna who is doing it so Krishna made Arjuna get confused like this at this moment because when Arjuna becomes confused in the performance of his duty Krishna my voice is low are you able to follow okay so I can't speak louder than this so when Arjuna becomes confused like this then uh Krishna gets an opportunity Enlighten Arjuna uh with the knowledge of bhagat Gita okay so bhagavat Gita is spoken to bring Arjuna from confusion to Clarity arj can never be confused because he's a pure devey he's personal associate of the Lord okay but still Krishna kept Arjuna in confusion so that he can Enlighten Arjuna with with bhagat Gita knowledge and bring him out of that confusion and bring some clarity in him so that other people who get confused they can take shelter of the knowledge of bhagat Gita and come out of confusion and get clarity right so Arjuna is just acting as an instrument in krishna's hands so in such a confused State of Mind Arjuna gives four reasons why he cannot fight first reason it's not exactly a reason but we can find it's a reason okay he was bewildered he was confused he was compassionate so four reasons are one compassion towards his relatives next he thinks that there will be no enjoyment even if I win the battle then he was fearful of sinful reactions then fourth reason he was also concerned about the destruction of family traditions these are the four reasons that Arjuna gives compassion loss of enjoyment without relatives fear of sinful reactions and destruction of families and family traditions the families are destroyed so many soldiers die on the battlefield what will happen to their family families are destroyed and family traditions are destroyed arj is concerned about it okay let's see these reasons one by one systematically [Music] [Music] Gand Gand Krishna Krishna then V har Krishna pru [Music] [Music] thank you we recited three shlokas now now let's discuss the meaning of these three shlokas I will show subini becomes easy uh see this you're able to see the screen uh so uh we will we will learn the meaning of every line says oh Krishna when I see my own relatives my own friends my own family members what happens to me they have come here with an eagerness to fight means they're eager to fight some they present before us so when I see all of them like this what's happening to me number one the limbs of my body are quivering they're shivering number two my mouth is drying number three my whole body is trembling right and four my hairs are standing on [Music] hand the Gand bow that I'm holding in my hand is slepping from my hand see for great warrior uh to not be able to hold a weapon is a great ins right so once in once Indra the king of Heavens he was fighting with RAS a great demon so that weapon fell from his hand the weapon he was holding Thunderbolt V fell from his hand so Indra felt ashamed to pick it up again because if the if the warrior cannot hold a weapon firmly with his hand it's like a great insult but here Arjuna is revealing clearly that I'm unable to hold my Gand anymore because of too much emotions not a lack of physical strength but lack of emotional strength right he became emotionally weak although he was physically strong emotionally he was weak so physical fitness it is at one level but emotions drive us more our physical actions are very much dependent on our emotional state when somebody's like too emotional too sad or too elated too happy one cannot work very uh productively right should have balanced emotions so that's why means skin my skin is it's burning means burning so my skin is burning I'm unable to even stand here anymore my mind is reing right I'm getting really confused so I only see causes of Misfortune means opposite okay so I only see opposite results I only see Misfortune oh khaa oh killer of Ki demon please be uh please understand that I'm feeling so overwhelmed with compassion for my relatives I won't be able to uh fight here you're killer of Ki demon Ki is a demon right so Ki is a horse demon who came to attack Krishna and vind so did you kill demons or your own relatives right and I am supposed to kill relatives Krishna killed relatives also so Krishna killed kamsa who is kamsa his mama right his own maternal Uncle Krishna had killed so Krishna doesn't discriminate even though some people are his relatives Krishna kills those relatives if they deserve to be killed if they're demoniac in nature right so in this way Arjuna Express his feelings of compassion okay and he's he's compassionate not only for his own soldiers he compassionate even for the soldiers of opposite party so even the enemy soldiers also why should they be killed like this so by krishna's Will Arjun is showing some ignorance of his real self-interest which is to satisfy the Lord so propad writes in the that all of us have the real interest of satisfying the Lord so we are meant to please the Lord here Arjuna is meant to act as an instrument in krishna's will and please Krishna what is krishna's Will Krishna wants to establish Dharma to establish Dharma Krishna has to kill this miscreant like dur and all their supporters to reduce the burden of the Krishna descended on this planet to reduce the burden of Earth this duryan they all burden on Earth it's not just a family dispute it's whole attempt of Krishna to establish Dharma so he wanted to establish Dharma and pandas are supposed to assist Krishna in establishing DH so Krishna is taking assistance of Arjun to establish Dharma and Arjun is supposed to assist Krishna but now Arjun is not thinking in terms of Krishna service Arjun is thinking in terms of his own bodily relationships bodily conception right blood relation skin relation okay so all of us are connected to each other see all there are 300 people here all of us have a relationship with each other it may not be blood relation it is spiritual relation because all of us are devotes of Krishna we are all Servants of Krishna kishna says we will learn in 15th chapter we are all UMES of Krishna we are all fragmental parts of Krishna we are all krishna's family members we are we are a part of so we are all one we all belong to one family so we may not have a skin relation but we have soul relation so Arjuna is ignoring that Soul relation and is focusing on the skin relation right Arjun is overwhelmed with material emotions here not not spiritual uh things if a soul develop some uh negative mentality and acts in unmentionable ways the living being has to be punished so Arjuna is supposed to punish these people like duryan dasas and all people so so now excessive attachment for material things puts a man into such bewildering condition prop says everyone is interested in himself and his own welfare but once Real self-interest Lies in Vishnu or Krishna the condition Soul forgets this and therefore suffers [Music] next so in the arj says that my dear Lord I don't want any I don't want see this I can't see how any good can come by killing my own relatives in this battle How can any good come K means to desire VI means Victory my dear Krishna I don't desire Victory I don't desire Kingdom I don't desire any happiness so Arjuna is saying that I have no interest in Kingdom I have no interest in any happiness that comes from the kingdom I have no interest in Victory my dear Lord so Arjun he attracted to bodily relationship sometimes people even forget the causes of material happiness right so chria requires a kingdom to happy even materially Arjuna says I will give up my even that material happiness even that rulership also I just I I can even go and beg uh in the streets like a beggar but I don't want to fight with my own relatives right he has no interest just like somebody who has no interest to eat he has no interest to cook also similarly Arjuna as AA has no interest to rule so he doesn't want to fight he doesn't want Victory so this is another reason that Arjuna gives okay then uh in the next shoka Arjuna says who will recite someone who has not recited so far not [Music] [Music] reced okay see this kaj goind oh goind goind goind means one who gives pleasure to sensus Krishna arj is expecting you're goind you're supposed to give pleasure to cows and senses go means cows goind means one who gives pleasure to C go also means senses goind means one who gives pleasure to sensus my dear Krishna you're supposed to give pleasure to my senses okay so what what pleases me please understand I don't want to fight with my own relatives okay K what is the use of this Raj this Kingdom this op also whose sake are we Desiring this and so we desire happiness or wealth or car Bangla building this and that to show off to relatives right so now why some people wear very gorgeous dress and go for a party right at home they don't wear such very opulent dresses so they wear opulent dresses and go to party because they they want to show right so opulence that one cannot show to others what is the use of that so now we desire all this opulence only to show off to our relatives if the relatives die who will we show off our op in one sense Arjuna gives a argument like [Music] this another side I a lot to serve my relatives to take care of my relatives the relatives themselves are not there what is the use of my earning what use of a opulent Kingdom that's the meaning AAR is there my gurus are there my fathers my poor my grandfathers my sons so many such great people are there so many dear relatives are there what what pleasure will I enjoy oh Lord without them even if I win in this battle so I have absolutely no desire to enjoy so Arjuna says I I am not in a mood to fight for this Kingdom anymore so next also he continues with the same argument so propad says that by addressing krishna's goind arj indicates that Krishna has to understand what will satisfy arjuna's senses okay but we need to satisfy krishna's senses we need to assist Krishna in his in his mission we already discussed it next [Music] continues me my my maternal uncles my my brothers in-law my sons my my other sis other relatives so if he kill them what great happiness we will arrive We Will We Will derive so I have no it I have no desire to kill them even if I can get a kingdom of the three worlds even if I become the ruler of entire I have absolutely no desire to enjoy that so he he is reluctant to fight with his own relatives even if you give him a big Kingdom of the three worlds So to that degree he became so detached so from one perspective Detachment from Material enjoyment Detachment from Power position Prestige that has to be appreciated from another perspective he's ignoring the duty of chhatria right we need to see from both perspectives a confused chhatria who is unable to perform his prescribed Duty from another perspective a compassionate vnav and detached vnav so who is not at all having any Grudge towards those people who have even troubled him so much okay so to summarize this in this five Shas Arjuna says I have no desire for Kingdom I have I don't I cannot enjoy any pleasure without relatives okay this is second reason first reason is compassion and all the bodily symptoms out of compassion now let's enter the third reason why he doesn't want to fight propa writes some brilliant comments at this moment so Arjuna being a great devote he wants to forgive the offenders right he doesn't want to retaliate against the wrongdoers but Krishna doesn't tolerate any Mischief done towards his misre now you know the story of um Maharaj and duras so duras tried to kill Amish but Amish Maharaj did not have any GRS towards durasi Amish Maharaj did not try to retaliate but the Lord did not tolerate the Lord killed the Lord sent his Sudan chakra and Sudan chakra killed the fiery demon created by duras and sudak started chasing duras right so although devote forgives an offender the Lord doesn't forgive similarly although Arjun is willing to spare the lives of all this duryodhan and party Krishna doesn't want they have unnecessarily user your kingdom they have insulted your wife they have mishandled Chase dropadi how can I tolerate them so Krishna doesn't want to tolerate okay although Arjuna wants to tolerate the Lord can excuse a person on his own account see even if you offend the Lord the Lord May tolerate that but if you offend his devotees Krishna will not tolerate okay so next schl m [Music] third reason he gives so far we have seen two reasons of Arjuna one he's compassionate second he doesn't have doesn't feel the enjoyment without relatives okay now third reason he's giving fear of sinful reactions so if we kill those aggressors we will incur sinful reaction means aggressors there are six kinds of aggressors we will see that after completing the meaning of the so this dhra the sons ofra are our own relatives so they cannot see any sin see so by killing our own our own relatives how can we enjoy How can there be any pleasure so there are six kinds of aggressors means aggressor number one one who gives poison so dur and give poison to beima number two one who sets fire to the house three one who attacks with weapons four one who plunders riches five one who occupies land six one who kidnaps wife so these are six kinds of aggressors or so these this kavas duryan and party have done all these six kinds of atrocities towards the pandas still Arjuna feels that if he kill such aggressors we will enur sin there's no sin but Arjuna feels that there is sin okay that is third argument so propad gives the example of Rah and raana see Rana is an aggressor he has unnecessarily offended Lord ramachandra he has kidnapped SII so did Ram SP raana Ram went with a big army of monkeys and killed raana isn't it so although Ram could have forgiven raana he killed ra of course at he forgive and he also arranged for the funeral rights of Rana after the battle so he did not hold any grads but he deserves punishment so you should punish that person because he's anai so uh now the Supreme Lord or his pure devote as a matter of Duty they punish or they may even kill miscreant but they don't hold any Envy or Grudge or hatred with their hearts they don't have any NE or hatred see duryodhan always envied yudish Maharaj seeing him as a competitor and enemy but yudish never hated duryodhan all the yudish counteracted the activities of duryodhan all the yud Maharaj fought with him but still he never did it with hatred in heart so like that even when duryodhan was lying in a pool of blood with his thigh broken by Bea's Club Krishna was not happy to see that scene Krishna was compassionate on duryan Krishna gave several opportunities for duryan to rectify his mentality but duryan did not listen similarly R also gave several opportunities to R to rectify his mentality but r did not accept them so finally Ram had to kill so there are some people we can be compassionate to people but being compassionate doesn't mean becoming sentimental right in the name of being kind and compassionate we can't be so sentimentally affectionate and tolerate the injustices done by people if they deserve punishment that that has to be given to them okay so Krishna is ultimately compassionate on all his living all the living beings who are his children Ram did not tolerate the aggression of RA and kill him Arjuna also should kill the duryodhan's party right so Arjuna says that this greedy people they don't see any fault in killing relatives but we do see why should I kill that is his point okay so now let us recite thisas [Music] [Music] you can unmute yourself [Music] [Music] although these people cannot see the sin in killing relatives we can see so let us not do this mistake right means when you kill people the K the family will be destroyed then quarreling with one's own friends so me their minds are overtaken by greed they don't see the crime and destroying family but how can we do that so Arjuna is saying that I cannot behave like these people what will be the difference between them and me if I also behave like this okay minute so I don't know why this has come what what are you see seeing now this sameoka this [Music] one so there is a in by destroying the there's a great Dosha so we are able to see that DOA so they are unable to see how can we behave like that okay so now Arjuna is going to describe the ill effects of Destruction of a family the family is destroyed the Kula a dynasty is destroyed what's going to happen that's the fourth reason so arjun's arguments are quite logical so yeah one one sense he is getting sentimental with material emotions but there is some logic also in what he's trying to speak that is the fourth reason now it's 519 we have two options either I continue to take for next 10 15 minutes and complete the chapter I will stop here and take questions so that we we postpone the last few verses of this chapter to the next Saturday should I should I complete the chapter okay I think we can continue so many we can continue we'll complete the chapter yes you can continue [Music] abish [Music] [Music] so here Arjuna is giving his fourth reason so so many warriors have assembled on the battlefield so so many soldiers have come there so when the soldiers are killed in the battle what will happen their family will become orphans right so there will not be people who will guide the younger family members so then without Elders guiding the youngers and the family thenat the longlasting family traditions will be lost when is gone will take over goes up there are always some unscrupulous men who will exploit women and when women are exploited unwanted will be born right and because V shankaras are born then the four fathers in a family will stay in hell so because the I will explain it in Greater detail in sometime when when when the L when Pinda means when oblations are not offered to the Past ancestors then their destination will be hellish right when the is not proper they will not perform the necessary rights to worship the four fathers right so next viya [Music] so destroying the family will be a great Doha will be a great fault it isak so that will also destroy ja D and K so which are Eternal so now let me just explain this four schloka in Greater detail the fourth reason you're able to see the screen now there's a nice table there so these are the handful effects of destroying a family when a family is destroyed what happens see so many people thousands and thousands of people have assembled on the battlefield of kurra there are so many soldiers the soldiers are killed soldiers are like men basically so they may be fathers of some people they may be husbands of some people they may be brothers of some people they may be sons of some people right so when these people are killed their families will be affected right so kak by the destruction of a dynasty by destruction of a family traditions will stop because when the elders are not there Elders die in the battle they cannot they cannot guide the youngsters right because of this religion will increase and because of religion or women are polluted women are exploited by unscrupulous men that require that brings unwanted proy by mixture of casts because the mixing of men and women will be only based on their Whimsical Tendencies and their their sensal urges more than a formal and bonafied combination right so when when unwanted is born they will have bad qualities and they won't follow the family traditions they won't offer Pinda to foref fathers then there will be hellish life for the whole family and those who destroy family traditions means four fathers also will fall down ancestors will fall down then all the community projects and family welfare activities will be destroyed so every jati every Kula every cast and every group a community of people they have some kind of rituals and some some religious and dharmic practices right so they will be lost without without people without Elders so now Elders in the family are responsible to to train the youngsters and bring bring them to right conduct right so and chased women also are very crucial they they play a crucial role in bringing population and training them properly so that there will be peace prosperity and spiritual progress in human society right so these are various reasons where that Arjuna gives uh and he says I cannot fight okay so I already mentioned this next [Music] [Music] last we already discussed the meaning of it basically four reasons number one compassion number two loss of enjoyment without relatives number three fear of sinful reactions by killing so many people number four destruction of family traditions so Arjuna gives these four reasons okay so Arjun Arjuna bases his argument not just on his personal experience but also what he has heard from authorities so in that sense we can definitely give credit to Arjuna soone cannot reach a real point of actual knowledge without being helped by a right person who is ready to establish that knowledge basically he's quoting authorities okay but still there is some material aspect in his arguments that we will see now so next [Music] [Music] how strange it is that these people cannot see the great Papa great sin in killing their own relatives me the enjoyment of Kingdom they very greedy for enjoying the kingdom with that greed they are ready to kill even swam in their own relatives how strange it is so then Arjuna says with great Detachment Raj [Music] [Music] so instead of fighting with such people better I be killed in their hands okay without doing any PR without confronting them without fighting back with them so let me only give up my let me give up my weapons and let me be killed by them consider that better so better for me to just give up my weapons and be killed by them than killing them who are my own relatives right they unable to see fult in killing relatives but I can see that F I cannot participate in this then finally Arjuna gives up his bow in the last [Music] saying like this AR so just sat in the Chariot means arrows means bow he has given up his bow and arrows his mind is filled with SH means uh lamentation so with this Arjuna just gave up his fight and he says I cannot fight so he saw Arjuna as a confused chhatria who could not perform his duty at the right moment also a soft-hearted vnav who is willing to give up his kingdom give up his claim over uh the kingdom and also willing to forgive and tolerate the offenses done by duryodhan in par okay these are a few thoughts the first chapter of bhagat Gita thank you all very much it's 531 now I completed on time but could not complete before time to give more time to q& but we'll have q& now so now just a couple of announcements before we open for questions uh so we have completed the first chapter of bhagat Gita because first chapter is very simple and easy to follow there's not much philosophy there there only emotions of Arjuna and some description of the battlefield and armies and some stories connected stories first chapter is very simple but second chapter becomes very philosophical very deep we'll not complete in two sessions it may take at least three sessions or even more also right so uh now which first chapter is completed so we will send when McQ test for all those participants who are doing bhagavat Gita certificate course uh can attempt only this McQ test but those who are doing bti shastri also should mandatorily attempt this McQ test okay everyone should McQ test okay but for certificate course reward this is sufficient so maybe by tomorrow we can send you can nicely revise right you can read prad's bhag GA as it is book so most of my explanation is based on that book and I also quote from balad viya bhushan another great commentator on bhagat Gita and I also quote from Vish chakti takur another great aara who committed on bhagat Gita right occasionally I may take something from ramanu okay so these are my references so prakti then mainly Gita sub is also based on these three various commentaries okay so you can read PR's you don't have to read all the commentaries if you're reading bhag Gita for the first time right so he read prad's book and you can take support from Gita subini to get the flow and the sections okay and the most important shlokas that bti shastri devotees are supposed to memorize just 50 shlokas or period of one year not a big thing so I have posted them not that your Soka memorization is restrict to only this 50 shlokas it can be much more than that we can even Target to complete 150 Shas or 250as in this one year so in the last December we have targeted to complete memorizing 30 shlokas many devotees have memorized like that even children also have nicely memorized 30as so uh so sloka memorization is done McQ test and once the six chapters first module is completed we will conduct one module test six based on the first six chapters of bhagat Gita so the rules for that how it is conducted our Saku will Saka are you there yes pru yes you can you can explain you can announce how exams will be conducted uh so uh pru already mentioned nicely that uh we we will have six modules for bti so uh there would be three modules for bhagavat Gita and one module each for sadesh isad and Saku so uh for the candidates they should give one Close book test and one open book test per module and the test duration should be uh will be uh one and a half hours there will be chapterwise mcqs for bhagavat Gita and for upadesam there would be one McQ test for S isopad 2 m mq test and for for S BH Sam synu there will be three McQ test and uh the exam will be conducted during our class time only for students side there will be no invigilator but the our own uh exam coordinator will invigilate the students during exam through Zoom call okay so and the student should sit in such a way so that the their answer sheet and their whole body could be visible in the camera while doing the while writing the exam so what to Pru G so as Saka pru has announced we'll have exam and zoom call now so many devotes cannot come together to physically at one place to write the exam so Zoom call and in Zoom I can see 25 screens only so all of you will be divided into groups of 25 each 24 each actually one for invis lat 24 students okay so we'll be dividing all of you into multiple groups multiple batches each 24 and we'll have exam Close book exam conducted on Zoom that's after two months after six chapters are complete it will take easily two months so now any questions or comments [Music] har Krishna pram thank you so much amazing classes and like it's just so interesting thank you so much R I wanted to ask about the shloka recitation so when we um uh memorize the schloka how will you test us on that good so the shoka sloka test is oral sloka test not so much written okay so oral like one of the devotees uh will be like hearing as you are reciting the shloka and speaking the approximate translation paraphrase translation of the shoka so we'll have oral Soka test organized so now in one year we can have this Soka test maybe five times or two times also should be sufficient each time 25as or 12 slokas each time actually bakri needs only 45 SAS for memorization I just give five extra so we can have maybe three three sessions should be okay so three Soka tests oral tests one devote will be taking Soka test of 15 shlokas at a time okay on Zoom call how that on Zoom call we can have okay we'll organize that soon because they need to see us right that we are not looking in a book thank you har Krishna any other question then whether ask have a question I'm audible yes uhu I my question is that I right now I am uh taking this bhagat Gita module and I will be extending it to the entire bakti shastri course so uh as you told that there will there will be chapterwise mcqs that will be sent to us uh so how do we that will be in the form of a it will be Google form yeah Google form right that means whenever we will give the response you will get the responses in the Excel sheet second thing is that uh when you said that you will we'll have an exam on one once we complete the six chapters so this McQ will be chapter- wise and uh one Close book exam will be after we finish six chapters that's written descriptive exam exam where we the where the there will be a paper and uh you you said that uh the camera should be pruj was saying that camera should be on this thing so that written exam also will be conducted on Zoom yes how will we get the paper paper will be displayed uh yeah our invisor will display the pap on the zoom screen and how do how do we submit it scan we have to scan it yeah once you complete the exam scan and then send mail us so we have to mail it okay okay so uh this one who is doing the bakti shastri and the one who is doing only the bhagad Gita the line of action is same uh suppose I right now I doing the bhagat Gita and suppose I'm extending it to Bak shastri so is there any difference those who are only doing bhagad Gita and those who are classes are same classes are exactly same there's no difference right but the assessments are like minimized for only bhagat Gita certificed course because many devotees who are doing only bhagat Gita they are children and teenagers also they may not be doing they may not have so much time to write so many essays and uh long questions so we kept very minimal assessment for them they just want to hear bhag but for those who are pursuing for B shastri definitely there's a regress assessment so if I am why I have joined on bhagat Gita because just for some Finance Management I have I want to do the entire bakti shastri but right now for the Finance Management I have done me and my wife are doing bhagad Gita so if we are appearing for the bhag exam will that be considered for the award of the yes sure sure sure you can extend it no problem okay [Music] M my question was uh sorry can you hear me yes yeah so the question was regarding uh uh the beautiful point which you brought up that Arjun basically was inside the heart he was a WN so there was soft heartness and the confusion was on his duty as a chhatria so it appears that you know ultimately Krishna wanted that the soft-hearted vnaa is not overtaken by sorry the chhatria person is not overtaken by a soft vnaa so uh in our day-to-day responsibility uh whatever we are whether we are brahmachari or Gast W sasi or any of the other waras so that in day-to-day action that will take precedence over our whism uh mean if I got the question rightly as it uh like uh we may have to take certain decisions and all that where we may uh either be lenient or strict or whatever external Behavior but that will have an influence over our own devotional hand is that's what you're trying to ask yeah that means suppose I need to select between my duty as a father from gr point of view or as a chhatria or from theam point of view versus my emotion as a wnav who looks at everyone with compassion and all that so there is a constant sort of assessment going on in the mind that this is a wnow kind of behavior and this is a vasham kind of behavior what do I choose like here it appears that Krishna wants us to choose theam side first now actually when Arjuna decided to fight it's not that he uh took the role of a chhatria and decided to fight even Arjun is fighting also as a devote not because he he finally understood initially he said he [Music] said I'm completely confused about my duty at the end of said all my confusions are gone so not that Arjuna is reminded of his or Duty and he agreed to play the role of a chhatria right yeah he did okay but more than being a chhatria Arjuna is a devote and krishna's mission is to establish on this planet he does these three personally and he also does these three to through his devotees now at this moment Krishna wanted Arjuna to assist him in fulfilling this Mission Krishna wanted Arjuna also to participate in doing these three things so now Arjuna agreed to fight at the end of bhagat Gita not only because he's AA but because he understood krishna's Mission andish can Krishna also said don't worry you worried about sinful reactions I there to all reactions I will from all allas are gone there but ultimate D of being obedient to Krishna is established there when you say you may include all kinds of external or temporary but theultimate the Supreme Dharma of every single living being is to be servant of Krishna to render service to Krishna without any interruptions without any motivations and Arjuna did that arjuna's fighting and killing duryodhan and party is a part of hisa not Justa it seems it's it's a part ofria but more Thana it's a part of hisa it's part of his devotional service to Krishna so then [Music] everything is gone then finally this is like last ofish conversation the conclusion but the last ofh what is that so there arj aligned his will with krishna's Will okay not that Arjuna just aligned his will with the D okay arj aligned his will with krishna's Will what pleases Krishna so one may do duties but is the main important aspect of Duty so is the main objective of more than right yes that is also there that's also fulfilled automatically but his main alignment is with krishna's will when the human will aligns with Divine will then there's always success and victory and prosperity that's what the last teaches us Mak sense so that means basically WN will follow vam Dharma as long as it is sort of part as as he sees as as followinga is part of krishna's Desire some yeah otherwise he can give it up but I I just wanted to check with you whether there are any examples where Krishna instructs a devote that okay you give up your V and do this like instruction is very clear but there are there must be incidences in the bhagat and other places where he says okay you don't have to bother about what is your duty as a what are those few examples uh like Lord mahu tells ramanand to give up his government service and come and join him in jagat Puri to constantly relas radak Krishna Past Times there are instances where Mah also told you are too neglectful of your family Affairs you please he told sh the same take take of the account yeah how will you maintain your family without taking care of the financial aspects properly so yeah but basically the emphasis is on biti to please Krishna okay more than just aligning with this but they are also important to some degree but aim should be okay thank you thank you next SRI laki you have a question yes Krishna B when Krishna was explaining to Arjuna the word stop I'm not getting can you just ask again when Krishna was explaining bhita Arjuna the war was stopped yeah it was paed right yes it's not that others are fighting and these are discussing no no why did not begin yes okay thank you then sh Krishna thank you so much fore accept my would have two questions uh you so nicely explain that there are different names addressed the Supreme Lord like madava chuta Etc Govinda so in text number 38 he's being addressed as janardana so I was curious to know if there is a specific meaning to being the Lord being addressed as janardana and then I had a followup question also about mad pru's comment that asria is mentioning in this Patria is not supposed to refuse the the to gamble when he is invited by the Rival party so so this seems to be uh kind of non- Krishna conscious and although the varama is suggesting chhatria you know going for gambling similarly I was thinking like sometimes in office there are certain occasions and where um from the office perspective it's it's good to to not say no but from Krishna conscious perspective it's okay to say no and I would still not lose my job so I just trying to understand this like uh would that be a higher principle to say no to those invitations where we know that it is risk to our Krishna Consciousness now what we are advised is whatever is favorable for our Krishna Consciousness we accept whatever is not favorable for our spiritual progress we reject sometimes may be some obligations so we may have to you know adjust the circumstances and our responses in such a way that we don't too much get sucked into something which is not at all favorable for our spiritual progress thank you brother the janardana which is the meaning for the the Lord being addressed as janardana in text 38 okay TT 38 yes the Lord is addressed as janardana I was curious to know the meaning also what is meant by janard I think I'll do some I do some reference and get I don't have it [Music] off thank you next anel m Krishna thank you for the wonderful class propery uh please can we get the uh a tentative examination schedule date wise schedule for the exam okay uh mostly February last week you'll have the first module exam and we can post also tentative schedule because depending on the coverage of syllabus there may be say syllabus there may be some one day here and there but uh but we'll post the so tary first February last week will be the first module exam okay all right thank you thank you I have two silly questions uh one is on in the text 20 Kida is mentioned which is the sign of victory but it comes under the section of Arjuna observing the armies so is there a overlap there like when we put that worse in observing the armies and not in the signs of Victory oh okay okay okay uh now Arjuna you can categorize any Arjuna took up his bow and prepared to shoot arrows after looking at the sons of D okay yes after looking at the sense of so obser began there partially from theth okay okay okay in that is okay and one more doubt is not a doubt uh in text 24 uh two names of Arjun are mentioned gesh and bhat so why is that sanay is mentioning his name two times like sometimes same person is addressed described in two ways or three ways within the same unless gives a specific someone says is forra okay maybe thank you Krishna prui uh prui I wanted to ask whether we have some kind of compiled question by for the Close book test we'll provide we we'll send it uh okay that was the main thing all my other questions regarding the exams have been answered thank you question har Krishna pru very nice class D is on kava side or pava side because in the fourth sloka uh Durana is saying that uh uh here in this me there are many people like Arjun and beima and you also in one slide you uh mention that the uh father-in-law uh is Dada so on which side is he Dada is on the side of pandas okay and the when AR duryan was describing he was describing the army of pandavas and he mentioned okay thank you har Krishna D pram pruj this is aay Mund from Kalan thank you so much such a wonderful class uh so my question is prui as you mentioned that uh uh various reasons for which Arjuna not wanted to fight such as confused chhatria compassionate wnaa and two other reasons and in the the same way there must be there are various reasons for which Krishna told Arjuna why you have to fight such as you are chhatria such as for right for people because Injustice has happened with you so at the end of bhagwat Gita Arjuna becomes ready to fight uh but the question here is when we are preaching to people bhagat Gita what is that main reason that we can tell people that okay this was the reason for which Arjuna was not ready and this is the main reason for which Krishna gave Arjuna to fight so which which can be considered as main reasons among these multip reasons thank you so much all one of reasons only means Arjuna gave four reasons in this chapter when he became compassionate on people k then he was fearful of sinful reactions and he says I cannot enjoy without my relatives then finally when the family is destroyed family traditions are destroyed and that will lead to many other imbalances in the society so all four reasons we can always mention these reasons these are orous reasons why he doesn't want to fight and Krishna just please don't think about bodily conception don't think in terms of bodily platform first teaching Krishna gives to Arjuna is that the soul is different from the body second chapter beginning slokas are that only 20 slokas are about how soul is different from the body and he systematically uh know clears all the arguments raised by Arjun okay you [Music] then okay thank you so much pru for Wonderful class pru uh I just have one question about like you know how to study like uh so I mean should we be studying like you know line by line every detail making the notes or is there a specific pattern we should be studying the entire course different different readers of shastra have different approaches to study either they just read or they will read and make notes so like recently I had taken this art of studying and teaching scriptures so there six sessions I elaborately described all the different study methods and all so the answer to your question be given in one minute itself but in short you can read if you can make some notes also that will be very beneficial so Al you read 10 pages you may write 10 points and know 12 points in your notes they are like lessons from your side so you can do that how the like how do I sync the classes along with the like where reading now first chapter we covered in one week in these two days yeah next week we'll start the second chapter you have one full week to read the first chapter there are 46 shlokas you may keep some shedule daily 10as I will read 10as and 10 purp I will read or there are five sections in this so you may read one section on each day because some are small some are big so you depending on your time you can also also my question is about the perspective of you know when it is the open book assessments uh so open book assessments maybe you know I think there are some essays or something that we need to write correct so in that case um so our Focus would be on the lectures more or the the reading more or our own experiences in the Krishna Consciousness it depends it's a combination of both see uh closed book exams like they are book based they test your remembrance how much you remember from what you have studied and heard but open book exams are understanding based so you uh heard and you read and you understood something and your understanding is tested in the open exams so you need to present your understanding what you understood okay okay in your own thank you bro thank you so much Dr [Music] J har Krishna actually I have done isop Nish five six years back from gangria prui so can I do other three from you and become like uh I can complete if you have those scores ready with you yes you can I have certificate then you can send certificate to our team so you can do the other three books only with us not a problem okay thank you thank you har Krishna prui um pruj I have two two questions one uh one is about you know uh when w committed a crime of you know taking away the wife of his brother uh Rama immediately punished him with death right that is like one of the atat what he committed and he got punished immediately but here duryodhan actually and his clan commits all the kinds of sins but then why did it took so long for the Lord to punish these people where I mean um my doubt is sometimes if we have the past Karma which is good then it keeps shielding you and postpones The Misfortune uh was there anything like that with duryodhan and clan that they ended they committed so many crimes to come to this final uh uh punishment Krishna waited for the opportune moment where he brings all misre one place and destroys them through his devotes of killing one by one he could he he's bringing all the people at one place all different so many of armies gathered at one place and he killed all of them now Jas Krishna did not immediately kill him and he came to fight with him to Mna just killed his 23 of armies and left Jas J brought more people to Mata again and Krishna killed him and left Jas like 17 times it happened finally Krishna allowed to K jaras okay just before Raj sacrifice so kishna also has his own reasons and strategies one thing is he wants to give more credit to his devotees second thing is he may postpone someone's you know punishment so that he may punish them along with many other people who deserve that punishment okay okay prop one more question I have is um I do not have knowledge of Sanskrit so it becomes difficult for me to recite I mean I want to by heart I mean learn this memorize the bhagat Gita so can you give some tips to uh get little better at memorizing again I I'll refer to that art of studying and teaching scriptures where one full session I had dedicated to learn shlokas art of learning shlokas only but in short by repeated recitation we can memorize Shas there's no other okay there are many ways and you can by repeatedly hearing the right pronunciation of schloka also you can you can remember it so we may remember so many songs we may not sit with a song book but we just remember because we we loved the song for it either for its music or for its meaning so our mind is somehow captivated with it similarly when our mind gets captivated with the music or the meter or the meaning of some shlokas we naturally tend to repeatedly say it utter it then it goes into the memory and as far as practice is concerned you take someoka say 10as for example recite them three four times it may take hardly 10 minutes oneok short takes 10 seconds to recite like in 10 seconds you can recite take 10as 100 seconds uh spare 500 seconds in a day so recite only this 10as five times at say 7 p.m. today tomorrow again at 7: p.m. recite the same five same 10as like that in 10 days they will sit in your memory if not 10 days take 15 days right so by repeatedly reciting shoka at a proper timings then we can remember it and for us to pronounce properly we can hear the right pronunciation prop says so here someone who is nicely pronouncing it and then you follow it that's why we are reciting here every day in morning batam class in any Ison Temple you see oneok is recited at least 10 15 times the speaker recites one line and the audience will repeat that line so like that some at least 10 15 times it happens we're repeatedly hearing the right pronunciation and pronouncing it and practicing ourselves and we repeatedly doing it they sit in our memory and there is much more to it also okay m D thank you there many questions at 66 now another class so I will take one last question ganapati go through yes ganap go har Krishna pru har Krishna thank you so much for the wonderful session I had one question about the you know you very nicely mentioned about there are different speakers in the bhagat Gita and you mentioned there are number of verses spoken by different speakers there are clearly verses spoken by duryodhan in the bhagat Gita but we see that nowhere in the bhagat Gita it refers to duryodhan as duryodhan AA you know it appears as if bhagat Gita is shying away from giving any credit or reference of duryodhan over there so why is that so why don't we mention that there are few verses recited by duryodhan also in the bhag so the speaking is a part of San's narration okay you can give credit if you want to give credit not a problem but they are a part of San's narration as presented in BH okay who asked the question I can't see Gap yes okay other devotees also have questions you can mail uh because we have full week before the next session starts you can always mail me I'll post my email ID also here so so that our all questions could be addressed if I know the answer I I will share one devote just posted janardana someone asked about janardan right janard means Chaser of enemies alternatively one who appeases everyone's desires you can mail your questions on this ID before the next before the next class TX thank you very much sh bhag
