YouTube Description Generator

Paste your video link and get a description written from what you say in the video, with a hook, key points and hashtags. Or describe your video if it isn't uploaded yet.

Sign in with Google to generate. New accounts get free credits.

How it works

  1. Paste a YouTube video link, or describe your video in a sentence.
  2. Click Generate description. With a link, we read the transcript so the description matches the video.
  3. Copy it and add your own links, like your website or socials.
  4. Paste it into the description box in YouTube Studio.

What you get

A hook up top

The first lines, the part YouTube shows before "more", say what the viewer gets and include the main search phrase.

Key points

A short list of what the video covers, taken from the transcript, so viewers know what to expect.

Hashtags included

Three relevant hashtags at the end, which YouTube shows above your title.

YouTube Description Generator FAQs

How long should a YouTube description be?

YouTube allows 5,000 characters, but only the first two or three lines show before "more". The generator writes 120 to 250 words with the important part first.

Does it add timestamps?

No. For chapters with timestamps, use our YouTube chapter generator and paste them below the description.

Is the description generator free?

You sign in with Google, and new accounts get free credits. Each run uses one credit.

Will it add links?

No. It never invents links. Add your own website, social and affiliate links after copying.

What if my video has no captions?

The tool needs captions to read a video. If a video has none, describe it in a sentence instead.
