One video → a week of posts
The video already contains the hooks: the sharpest lines someone said out loud. The transcript lets you find them in seconds instead of scrubbing through the timeline.
What you get
- Seven posts, each built around one real line from the video
- A thread outline for the main argument
- Timestamps for each line so you can clip the moment
With an AI assistant
Connect the MCP server to Claude, ChatGPT or Cursor, then paste:
Read the transcript of <video URL> with timestamps. Find the 7 sharpest, most quotable lines. For each, write one LinkedIn post and one short X post that open with that line. Include the [m:ss] so I can cut the clip. Then outline a 6-post thread on the video's main argument.
With the API
Set GYT_API_KEY to a key from the developers page. Each transcript or list page costs one credit; checking a channel's latest uploads is free.
1. Get the transcript with timestamps
curl -s -H "Authorization: Bearer $GYT_API_KEY" \ "https://getyoutubetranscript.com/api/v1/transcript?v=VIDEO_ID×tamps=true"
Limits to know
- Check each quote against the video before posting; auto captions can drop words.

Questions
Can I get the clips too?
This gives you the exact timestamps; cut the clips in your editor. SRT export gives you captions for those clips as well.
